Thank you for visiting the Tosoh SMD website.  “SMD”, as we are known in the industry, has enjoyed a long history and has grown with the world's leading fabs through the most exciting times of the electronics industry.  From our modest beginnings in 1975 with a few people and a lathe, to our current world class manufacturing facilities and quality systems, SMD has been a benchmark in a dynamic industry. 

As advancements in technology continue to drive new products in the consumer and energy sectors, it is SMD’s people that have brought the innovation and continuous improvement that gives us the trademark, The Global Leader in Target Technology™.  At its core SMD is a high value materials company with extraordinary analytical and materials evaluation capabilities and industry recognized technical support.  It is this foundation that has allowed us to extend our abilities from semiconductor into the areas of flat panel display and solar technologies.
